Christopher Morgan was born on October 11, 1968 in Queens, New York City, the middle child of three sons. His father, George Morgan, was a high school guidance counselor and his mother, Nancy (née Fitzpatrick), was a homemaker. He has two older brothers: Sean, who is also an actor; and Brendan, a writer and producer.

Morgan attended Catholic schools in his hometown of Glen cove until ninth grade before transferring to public school for the remainder of his education. He then went on to study at Hofstra University on Long Island where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991. After graduation he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

Morgan’s first professional acting job came in 1993 when he appeared as an extra in the television series Married… with Children. He made his film debut the following year in the 1994 comedy Dumb & Dumber. Over the next few years he had roles in various television shows and movies including Law & Order, NYPD Blue and 7th Heaven.

In 1996 he landed a recurring role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives which led to him being cast as Dr. Mike Hamilton in another soap opera General Hospital in 1997.
