Douglas A. Wright is a Canadian politician who served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2010 to 2011. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Wright was born in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Scarborough, Wright attended high school at Woburn Collegiate Institute.

He then studied economics at McMaster University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation, he worked as an economist for a steel company and then as a financial analyst for an insurance company. He later obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from York University.

In 1999, Wright was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario representing the riding of Durham East. He was appointed as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Northern Development and Mines in 2001 and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed Associate Minister of Finance responsible for taxation policy.

He served in these roles until 2007 when he became Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
