The Old Siam Plaza is a mall that features independent boutiques, market stalls, and tailor shops. It is a popular shopping destination for Bangkok’s young shoppers. Upstairs, you will find a selection of silk and tailoring shops. 

4. Kopi Luwak 

Kopi Luwak is one of the world’s most expensive coffee beans. It is made from the partially digested coffee cherries eaten and excreted by Asian palm civets, a small mammal native to Indonesia. The coffee undergoes fermentation during the civet’s digestive process, producing unique flavors. 

This “bucket list” drink has gained widespread popularity due to its distinctive taste. However, some critics point out that the civets are kept in captivity and force-fed for the sake of this rare coffee. 

5. Kuala Lumpur Street Food 

Explore a culinary scene in complete darkness at Dining In The Dark. Enjoy a tasting menu of surprise dishes and a selection of fine wines.

Nasi tumpang is white rice packed in a banana leaf with meat floss, wood-fire broiled chicken and sweet gravy. Another favorite is nasi berlauk, which has fish or chicken and various vegetables cooked with galangal-infused yellow gravy. 

8. Kuala Lumpur Nightlife 

KL has a lively bar scene. Located in the same complex as myPizzaLab, Conti’s puts a cocktail spin on local flavors such as the Alcoholic Aiyu Jelly with lychee and sea coconut. 

Rimbar claims to be the first bar in Malaysia inspired by all things camping – expect specialty curations alongside classics. Nearby is beer lovers’ paradise Beer Bank with hundreds of bottle choices including the local Modern Madness. 

9. Malaysian Cuisine 

Malaysian cuisine features sup tulang, a soup dish made from mutton leg bones stewed in spices. Other notable dishes include gudek, surimi fishcake, bakso and tomato bredie.
