The skinny brow pencil has always been a best-seller. However, as consumers became more brow-obsessed and started noticing the variety of shapes on the market, the question arose: Does the shape of your brow pencil matter? What if you have been using the wrong type all this time? Well, of course, this is a matter of great concern, so the blog writer consulted with an expert. Here’s what came out of the consultation.

Before deciding on the best shape of pencil for your brows, there are a few other qualities to be mindful of: color and consistency. The expert stated that not only the color of your brows but also your skin tone can affect the way a brow pencil looks on you. Thus, always ensure to select a pencil that isn’t overly warm or too ashy according to your coloring. And here is the right way to ensure your brows don’t look unnatural! Don’t select a pencil that is too dark.

Angled Brow Pencil

If you’re just starting and/or blessed with naturally full brows, the expert recommends trying an angled or triangular tip-pencil. This shape allows the user to “draw individual hair strokes and define the natural shape of the brow.” After trying this shape for the first time, you will be surprised at how quickly you’ll be able to fill in your brows. The triangular shape gives way to a variety of edges and surfaces to work with. So, you can fill in your brows in the way that’s most comfortable for you. One drawback with this shape is that it seems to be very large to fill in thinner brows comfortably. Moreover, it loses its sharp edges after a few uses. However, the expert noted that to redefine the edges, you simply need to rub the tip over a piece of paper.

Pointed

On the flip side, for those who have a comfort level with wielding brow pencils, have thinner brows, and/or are looking to create more definition, the expert recommends trying a skinny brow pencil. The fine, pointed tip of these pencils makes it easier to avoid blunders often associated with smaller brows. Moreover, it doesn’t need to be reshaped. There are many fans of this shape because the super-fine point makes it effortless to see specifically where you’re drawing for the most precise line. However, especially if you are blessed with fuller brows or rather like to draw on a fuller brow, the small size of this pencil type means it will take longer to fill them in. Moreover, you will go through the pencil a lot more quickly.

The Final Verdict

Finally, which is better? In the end, both shapes will work well to fill in your brows the way you like them. But after comparing the two, this is the takeaway – Yes, a triangular tip-pencil can still be used in a way that makes brows look natural and feathery. So, go for this pencil, says the expert.
