Sculptures / France

The Galerie d’Apollon

The Galerie d’Apollon is one of the most luxurious sections of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, with its ornate decorations, golden ceilings, and stunning murals. It displays the magnificent artifacts that testify to the majesty of the French throne and holds the Crown Jewels of France.

Italic and Etruscan Antiquities (Renovation in progress)

Once the restoration is finished, visitors will be able to see sculptures, ceramics, and other artifacts that showcase the culture and art of pre-Roman Italy.

Paintings / France (Sully and Richelieu wings)

Other Galleries that Are Partly Open

  1. Decorative Arts / Europe (Partly open): Exquisite workmanship and creative expression from many eras and styles are shown in this collection, which gives a glance into the ornamental arts of Europe. Furniture, pottery, textiles, and other ornamental artifacts that represent the cultural and artistic sensitivities of Europe may still be seen in other areas of the museum, even though several rooms are closed for repairs (Rooms 516 and 558 to 564).
  2. Egyptian Antiquities (Partly open): Among the world’s most comprehensive collections of Egyptian antiquities, this museum showcases relics from Egypt’s long and illustrious past, spanning thousands of years. Although the gallery is now undergoing some repairs, guests are still able to see some of the priceless objects on display, including sarcophagi, sculptures, reliefs, and other artifacts that shed light on the artistic, religious, and everyday lives of ancient Egyptians.
  3. Paintings / Northern Europe (Partly open): This gallery displays paintings spanning a variety of styles and topics created by painters from Northern European nations including Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Northern European landscapes, portraits, and genre scenes are on display throughout the museum, notably in Room 801, formerly known as Galerie Médicis, which is now closed to the public.
  4. Paintings / Spain (Partly open): Spanish painters from all eras, including the Golden Age, are on display at this exhibition, which pays homage to Spain’s illustrious cultural history. Works by Spanish artists including El Greco, Francisco Goya, and Diego Velázquez will be on display during the museum’s partial inauguration, providing visitors with a glimpse into the country’s rich creative and cultural heritage.
  5. Sculptures / Europe (Partly open): Showing the development of sculpture from antiquity to the current day, this gallery showcases sculptures from throughout Europe. The gallery is closed on Fridays, however, there are still sections open for visitors to see sculptures by European artists from a variety of historical eras and styles (except rooms 403–406).
